To be a Mom...

A Mom will break her own heart in pieces and glue those pieces into your heart that is broken.

She will tie your hair (im)patiently and run back to fetch your favorite toy, even if it makes her late.

She will pull the feathers from her wings and lovingly add them to yours just to make sure that you can fly higher.

She will use her last bit of energy at the end of a long day to wipe the tears from your sad face.

A Mom is the one person who will always see the beauty within you.

She is the one person who will believe that you only deserve the best and bend backward to ensure that you get it.

To be a Mom is to understand that at times, you will have to stand alone against the world.

I only realize now why Cinderella's stepmom was so nasty and Mama Bear's porridge was always cold.

I only realize now why Snow White was alone in the woods and why Little Red Riding hood's granny so gray, old and sick.

Because the days of motherhood were just too long and the years much too short.

And many, yes MANY days, a Mom's plate of food is just too cold too often.

Luckily there are silver linings, especially around much darker clouds.

On days you need to see that silver lining the most.

The price of being a Mom can be found in listening to some of the most precious of laughter of your child, sounding like water gurgling over smooth river stones.

It is the privilege of hearing a little human that you brought into the world say, "Mama, I love you," and you know it comes from their tiny heart.

I believe that you only grasp the true value of a Mom the day you become a Mom yourself.

It is only then that you realize the power in a Mom's prayers.

At times the title Mom also brings the deepest of hurt and pain.

But let's be honest - to have a Mom and to be a Mom is the highest privilege anyone can be blessed with.

A Letter From Heaven

To my dearest family,

some things I'd like to say,

but first of all to let you

know that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from Heaven,

where I dwell with God above,

where there are no tears or sadness,

there is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy,

just because I'm out of sight,

remember that I'm with you,

every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you,

when my life on earth was through,

God picked me up and hugged me,

and said, "I welcome you."

"It's good to have you back again.

You were missed while you were gone.

As for your dearest family,

they'll be here later on."

"I need you here so badly

as part of my big plan.

There's so much that we have to do,

to help our mortal man."

Then God gave me a list of things

He wished for me to do.

And foremost on that list of mine,

is to watch and care for you.

I will be beside you,

every day of the week and year,

and when you're sad I'm standing there,

to wipe away the tear.

And when you lie in bed at night,

the day's chores put to flight,

God and I are closest to you

in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on Earth,

and all those loving years,

because you're only human,

there's bound to be some tears.

One thing is for certain,

though my life on Earth is over,

I am closer to you now

than I ever was before.

And to my many friends,

trust God knows what is best.

I am not far away from you,

I'm just beyond the crest.

There are rocky roads ahead for you

and many hills to climb,

together we can do it,

taking one day at a time.

It was my philosophy 

and please I'd like for you,

to give unto the world, 

so the world will give to you.

If you can help someone

who's in sorrow or in pain,

then you can say to God at night,

my day was not in vain.

And now I am contented 

that my life it was worthwhile,

knowing as I passed along the way,

I made somebody smile.

When you're walking down the street

and I am on your mind,

I'm walking in your footsteps,

only half a step behind.

And when you feel a gentle breeze

of wind upon your face,

that's me giving you a great big hug,

or just as of embrace.

When it's time for you to go

from that body to be free,

remember you are not going,

you are coming home to me.

Good hearts

Because you have a good heart

Here's the thing about people with good hearts. They give you excuses

when you don't explain yourself. They accept apologies you don't give.

They see the best in you when you don't need them to. At your worst,

Each of us is born with something special,

a gift that's only given just to us,

a talent or a quirk or a way of seeing life,

a knack of finding light amidst the dust.

It's your special little gift that's going to take you,

to the places you've dreamed of in your head,

it will open doors and bring in souls who marvel at your

skills, it will harvest joy and chase away the dread.

But there's something that you must be quite aware of,

when it comes to knowing just what is your gift,

people search for theirs in vain their whole life through, a

thankless chase like that can cause a rift.

Your gift you see, is not always a grand one,

it's not the being fast, or saving lives,

it's not always the singing voice, the dancing feet or more,

it can sometimes be a simple quirk of life.

Your gift can be a constant splash of colour,

a way of showing light through cloudy days,

your gift could be the way you make others feel at peace,

or bring some calm to someone's messy day.

Your gift could be the ears that always listen,

when someone is in need of being seen,

your gift could be the way you view the world as something

small, and believe that we are all just one big team.

Your gift could be the passions that you share,

with others who are not that way inclined,

spreading art and spreading music all across your world, is

something that can change a lot of minds.

So take a minute now to look within you,

and see what little gift you've stored away,

let it out and show it love and bring it to the front,

your gift will stay with you now, all the way.

Fitting in

Fitting in and belonging are not the same energy. You can't

feel as though you belong, anywhere, until you make a

home for yourself in your own soul. A place where you are

safe - whether flawed, achieving or in rest. Fitting in is the 

ego's desire to be like the rest, to move with the crowd. It is

fuelled by the unhealed parts we weren't taught to nurture 

early on. But it's never too late. To feel that you belong, you

must decide that you do. Accept yourself through your own

front door and make a home for life. You'll never feel the

urge to fit in again, if you belong to yourself.

You must understand that sometimes there are days that

bad mood either but because sometimes your mind and

body craves silence and inner peace.

Sometimes, there are days that your soul needs silence

and solitude for you to figure things out.

I want you to know that if you find yourself spacing out and

distancing yourself from other people it doesn't mean that

you're a bad and mean person.

You're a human and it's okay to have a meltdown and you 

don't owe anyone explanations for prioritizing what your

soul deserves.
