Original blessing

If we focus on our own view of ourselves, or how other people view us, or how we think the world perceives us, we will be tossed constantly from one sentiment to the next. Some people have a view of God that feels just as stormy, and that's the most problematic of all. If we can't trust the steadfast love God has for us, we will also be tossed around by our questions of whether God finds us worthy or disgraceful, whether we are measuring up or letting God down. But God's relationship to us is not in question. God is sticking with it. So we can find some stability even in the midst of our ever-changing lives by focusing on original blessing above all else. We can either build our self-worth on the shifting sand of human opinion (including our own), or we can build it on the rock of God's steadfast commitment to us.

Communication

A good workout is a great way to get out frustration and help me think. I realized that communication isn't everyone's forte. We don't all communicate the same way and when someone doesn't do or say something the way you think they should, the problem might not be theirs. It may be yours. And in this case, yep, the problem is mine. Bottom line, putting your expectations on others can lead to hurt and disappointment. Don't be upset when someone doesn't do something the way you think they should (like call or text when you think they should). You don't know what they've got going or what they're struggling with. Just be there for them if and when they need you. Sometimes that's all you can do.

Still having an income during this crisis is a huge blessing.

Not the dad

Good point

If your girlfriend is gorgeous and loyal, why flirt with others? Why cheat? It's like throwing away a diamond and picking up a chicken nugget.

Okay

In regard to first marriage...

Divorce is okay. Breaking up is okay. Starting over is okay. Moving on is okay. Being alone is okay. What is not okay is staying somewhere you are not valued and appreciated.

It's nice

It's nice to be told you're beautiful or hot or whatever, but I'd love to hear someone say that I make things easier, that they're happy I exist, they don't know what they'd do without me, I'm strong, that they hope we never lose each other, that they're proud of me.

Labeled

To the women who are labeled...

Aggressive:  Keep being assertive.

Bossy:  Keep on leading.

Difficult:  Keep telling the truth.

Too much:  Keep taking up space.

Awkward:  Keep asking hard questions.

Please don't shrink yourself to make people happy. Be yourself, you're beautiful that way.
