Parallel line

 From RSpoetica

they say that love
is a parallel line,
not perpendiculars
that coincide,
not two people gazing
at each other's eyes.

they say love is about
looking at what's in front of you
with someone who sees it
the same way you do.

love is a mutual agreement
to help each other grow,
assuring the other person
you'll be there while
she builds her own world.

love knows how to wait,
love knows that it takes
a lot of sacrifice and time
to arrive at something great.

love does not chase
temporaries and short-terms;
love builds up, an assemblage
of patience and quiet persistence.

love is a parallel line -
allowing the other to design
her own life, giving time while
you patiently wait by her side

as you go in motion
towards the same direction.

~Romia Creshil

Walls

 Thought-provoking...

To The One Who Put Up Walls

I wish you'd borrow my heart
so you would know
how much space you take up.

I wish you'd borrow my eyes,
so you would see what I see
every time you ask me why you?

I wish we could have a chance
to exchange our minds
so I would know why
you're too afraid to fall so hard.

I wish you could have the chance
to own my soul so you would know
how it longs to be with you.

I wish one day you'd stop
putting up walls on yourself
and let me win your heart -
- once and for all.

I wish you would have the courage
to open your heart and let me in.
For that's the only way I'd be able
to let you know that we could be
missing something so real
if we'll not be able
to free ourselves and choose -
- to love again.

Mom explained

My mom did not sleep. She felt exhausted. She was irritable, grumpy, and bitter. She was always sick until one day, suddenly, she changed.

One day my dad said to her:
- I've been looking for a job for three months and I haven't found anything. I'm going to have a few beers with friends.
My mom replied:
- It's okay.
My brother said to her:
- Mom, I'm doing poorly in all subjects at the University.
My mom replied:
- Okay, you will recover, and if you don't, well, you repeat the semester, but you pay the tuition.
My sister said to her:
- Mom, I smashed the car.
My mom replied:
- Okay, daughter, take it to the car shop and find out how to pay and while they fix it, get around by bus or subway.
Her daughter-in-law said to her:
- Mother-in-law, I came to spend a few months with you.
My mom replied:
- Okay, settle in the living room couch and look for some blankets in the closet.
All of us gathered worried to see these reactions coming from Mom.

We suspected that she had gone to the doctor and that she was prescribed some pills called "I don't give a damn"...Perhaps she was overdosing on these!

We then proposed to do an "intervention" with my mother to remove her from any possible addiction she had towards some anti-tantrum medication.

But then...she gathered us around her and my mom explained:
"It took me a long time to realize that each person is responsible for their life. It took me years to discover that my anguish, anxiety, my depression, my courage, my insomnia and my stress, does not solve your problems but aggravates mine.

I am not responsible for the actions of anyone and it's not my job to provide happiness but I am responsible for the reactions I express to that.

Therefore, I came to the conclusion that my duty to myself is to remain calm and let each one of you solve what corresponds to you.

I have taken courses in yoga, meditation, miracles, human development, mental hygiene, vibration and neurolinguistic programming and in all of them, I found a common denominator in them all...

I can only control myself, you have all the necessary resources to solve your own problems despite how hard they may be. My job is to pray for you, love on you, encourage you but it's up to YOU to solve them and find your happiness.

I can only give you my advice if you ask me and it depends on you to follow it or not. There are consequences, good or bad, to your decisions and YOU have to live them.

So from now on, I cease to be the receptacle of your responsibilities, the sack of your guilt, the laundress of your remorse, the advocate of your faults, the wall of your lamentations, the depositary of your duties, who should solve your problems or spare a tire every time to fulfill your responsibilities.

From now on, I declare all independent and self-sufficient adults.

Everyone at my mom's house was speechless. From that day on, the family began to function better because everyone in the house knew exactly what it us they needed to do.

For some of us this is hard because we've grown up being the caregivers feeling responsible for others. As moms and wives we are fixers of all things. We never want our loved ones to go through difficult things or to struggle. We want everyone to be happy.

But, the sooner we take that responsibility off our shoulders and on to each loved one, the better we are preparing them to be MEsponsible.

We are not here on earth to be everything to everyone. Stop putting that pressure on yourself.

If it's love

if it's love you don't have to force
it. you can't stop what's meant for
you. you can't silence what's real.

~r.m. drake

One day

and one day, you will understand
how some people feel familiar
the moment you meet them...as if
your souls have met many years ago
and they pick up right where they left
off. and one day, out of the blue,
someone will run up to you and tell
you..."I have been waiting for you
and I have missed you for so long."

~r.m. drake

What matters

 From thegoodquote

Reminds me of another time...

"He may love you. He probably does.
He probably thinks about you all the
time. But that isn't what matters. What
matters is what he's doing about it, and
what he's doing about it is nothing. And
if he's doing nothing, you most
certainly shouldn't do anything. You
need someone who goes out of their
way to make it obvious that they want
you in their life."

Chaotic masterpiece

 By A.J. Xander

I don't love you because you're
beautiful, that's easy to find
nowadays. I love you because of
who you are. How you're able to
pull things out of me I never knew
existed. I love you because I want
to be better when I'm around
you. For you're my muse in this
chaotic masterpiece of life.

Looked at her

he looked at her
the way she needed to be looked at

Choose peace

By Erika B Writes

And the thing about peace is that it's just
always waiting for us -- in the
quiet corners of our homes, the moment we
open our eyes in the morning, smiles of
the people we love, songs that make us
feel the warmth we long for.

We can choose peace. Peace is not limited
to what we see, hear or read. It's just
within us, in every breath we take, every
prayer we say and every time we let go.

And the little girl smiled,

"Sunset,"

she said,

"that is my favorite color."

The Sun

Have recorded before but definitely worth repeating...

The Sun Never Says
by Hafiz

Even
After
All this time
The Sun never says
To the Earth,

"You owe me."

Look
What happens
With a love like that,
It lights the
Whole
Sky.

He and I

 He and I

When words run dry,
he does not try,
nor do I.

We are on par.

He just is,
I just am
and we just are.

Valued

There's a difference between
being liked and being valued.

A lot of people like you, not many
value you.

Be valued.

Forget not

Forget not that the
earth delights to feel
your bare feet and
the winds long to
play with your hair.

~Khalil Gibran

Still good enough

From Heart of a Warrior Woman

Despite what you may believe, you can disappoint people and still be good enough. You can make mistakes and still be capable and talented. You can let people down and still be worthwhile and deserving of love. Everyone has disappointed someone they care about. Everyone messes up, lets people down, and makes mistakes. Not because we're inadequate or fundamentally inept, but because we're imperfect and fundamentally human. Expecting anything different is setting yourself up for failure.  ~Daniell Koepke

Silence

 From Serendipity Corner

Perhaps the most important thing we bring to another person is the silence in us, not the sort of silence that is filled with unspoken criticism or hard withdrawal. The sort of silence that is a place of refuge, of rest, of acceptance of someone as they are. We are all hungry for this other silence. It is hard to find. In its presence we can remember something beyond the moment, a strength on which to build a life. Silence is a great place of power and healing...

~Rachel Naomi Remen

Strange and beautiful

She was strange
and beautiful
and those were human
qualities that I
had never seen weaved
together before.

She became terrifying
to me,
not because I feared
who she was,
but for the sake
of love,
I feared what
she could do to me.

Doors

 by Alexander Graham Bell

The famous saying, "when one door closes, another door opens," is actually a famous quote by Alexander Graham Bell. The quote ends with "but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the ones which open for us."

Almost

 From Tiny Stories

The saddest word
in the whole wide world
is the word almost.

He was almost in love.
She was almost good for him.
He almost stopped her.
She almost waited.
He almost lived.
They almost made it.

Dust

 BTW, I hate dusting...

DUST IF YOU MUST

Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture or write a letter,
Bake a cake or plant a seed,
Ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out there.
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go - and go you must -
You, yourself, will make more dust.

Glad to be alive

 From Ladies Pass it On

WHATEVER MAKES YOU GLAD TO BE ALIVE

Do that,
whenever you can.

Whatever gives your soul that lift and elevates you, to a
level of harmony, peace and contentment, chase it and
grab it tight.

Stop seeing your life as a chore to be dealt with everyday
and start searching for gaps to put in blissful moments
of joy.

Nobody said life had to be this hard.
Nobody made you sign up for a daily grind so punishing,
you couldn't find the energy to do what makes you
happy.

This life is short my friend and each of us don't know,
how long we have,
so let's not waste another moment of another day,
feeling like a prop in our own show.
We are the stars.
We are the show.

Get out there and love your life and if you can't, make it
more loveable.
Change things around.
It's your life.
Do whatever you need to do, to get any kind of good
feeling, every day.
And start now,
right this minute.

The future is promised to no one, what are you waiting
for?

~Donna Ashworth

Let go

 From God's Revival 2018

Children, lean not, on your own understanding but submit all your ways to Me and I shall direct your path. There are many of you that need a life change, this will only happen if you let go of the old life. Unless you decrease, how shall I increase. There is a store house a provision waiting for you. However if you do not come to the end of yourself how shall I bless you. Some of you feel you have waited so long for things to change, but I have waited even longer, because you will not allow them to change. Not everything that is going to happen is going to be what you expect. If unless you surrender and loosen your hands from these situations I cannot go forward.

Not every day

 From Lessons Learned in Life

Not every day is a good day,
live anyway.
Not all you love will love you back,
love anyway.
Not everyone will tell you the truth,
be honest anyway.
Not all deals are fair,
play fair anyway.

An ocean

From Enlightening Oblivion

Every time you think you are broken,
know this: you are never really breaking.

No one can break an ocean, darling, all
you are doing is breaking the glass
that is holding you back, diving deeper
into your own depths, discovering
yourself in pockets of the most somber
waves, rebuilding your heart with coral,
with seaweed, with moon coloured sand dust.

So stop trying to hold yourself back
inside that glass, it was never meant
to hold you.

Instead, break it, shatter it, into a
thousand pieces and become who
you were always meant to be, an
ocean, proud and whole...

Choose you

 And I'd choose you;
in a hundred lifetimes,
in a hundred worlds,
in any version of reality,
I'd find you and
I'd choose you.

~The Chaos of Stars

The way you are

From Ravenous Butterflies

Let someone love you the way you are - as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.

~Mark Hack

(also had Andrea Kowch listed?)

Time limit

From Ladies Pass it On

IF YOU THINK GRIEF HAS A TIME LIMIT,

you have likely never lost a piece of your heart.

If you think that the days, months, and years will
somehow erase the extent of the loss, then you have
never been unlucky enough to lose a love.
You are blessed, my friend.

For life without that piece of you, is a new life indeed.
It is a new world when the person you miss is no longer
here.
Everything looks different and will never look the same
again.
Every day is a mountain to climb, battling the waves of
emotion, when a song plays, a smell reminds or a
memory rears.

And that never lessens, we only become more accustomed to
handling it.
To hiding it.

You may think time is healing the hurt, then you enter a
new phase of your life; a relationship, a child, a
grandchild, a new opportunity, and you realise you
cannot share that with your missing part.
The waves bear down fresh, as they were on the very
first day.

If you think grief has a time limit, my friend, you have
never lost a piece of your heart.
And for that, you should be truly grateful.

Let the grieving grieve for as long as they must, and if
you want to help, love them more.

Love is the only way.

She was you

From I Am A Mother to An Angel

And when you get
to where you're
going, turn
around and help
her too. For there
was a time, not
long ago when she
was you.

The poem of you

The poem

Of you

Is in my bones;

Long after

I am gone,

I will continue

To speak your name.

Fire

"Why do you put up with me?"

"Because you're fire...and I've been cold my whole life."

~a.r. asher

Crushingly

Beautiful. Crushingly so. You
look like the rest of my life.

~Beau Taplin, For Life

You remembered

 From Ladies Pass it On

I BET YOU REMEMBERED

We talk about "finding ourselves,"
what does that mean and why do people feel the need to
travel to do that?
It's because somewhere along the way we were made to
believe that our true self was too flawed to display.
So we learned how to be someone else.
We conformed, we stayed silent, we nodded, we
swallowed our feelings.
This went on for so long that we quite literally forgot who
our real self was.

So, when people say I need to find myself, they mean
they need to "remember" themselves.
They need to remember what they truly like, what they
really don't like, which kind of people spark their joy,
which environments plug them in and which drain them
out.

And whilst traveling is a wonderful way to connect with
that part of you, so is any kind of game-changer
situation (like a pandemic for example), or a period of
hiatus from the normal treadmill of our daily grind.

I bet you recently remembered, just a little bit, who the
real you is.

Now, you have some remembering to do my friend,

~Donna Ashworth

Self-betrayal

From Flying Free

Good reminder...

Self-Betrayal Looks Like:
  • Sacrificing all of your needs in order to keep a relationship
  • Keeping yourself over booked with obligations with no time left for you
  • Achieving something to be validated by someone without truly wanting it for yourself
  • Shaming yourself for your past choices, when those choices were made in survival mode
  • Saying "yes" to things that later cause resentment

Effortless intake

It was instinctive,
the way I fell for you.
Like an effortless
intake of breath.

Words from others

 By Danielle Cresswell

She lived for
words
From others,
And wrote some
of her own;
From being
Oh, so tiny,
'til now, so
fully grown;
The words were
oh, so magic:
Emotions,
Hot and cold;
And they would
Stay young
always:
And not, like her,
Get old...

As one

 As One

You speak,
I hear.
You touch,
I feel.
You think,
I know.
You feel,
I sense it;
Love,
Soul deep,
Embedded,
Eternal.

Your own brilliant heart

From Serendipity Corner

Everyone in your life is loving you right now, to the best
of their ability.
Their hearts are as closed or as open as they can
possibly be right now.

Everyone is dealing with sorrows, fears and joys you
may never know.
Seeking love in their own way.

When you're trying to get love from others, it really
matters how open or closed their hearts are today.
You go to war with them, trying to crack them open.

When you're not seeking love, but instead knowing love
as your own true nature, feeling the source of love in
your own brilliant heart, you are free, and the battle for
love ends.

You can now let others love you in their own unique way.
However "limited" that may seem to the mind.

Because through the eyes of abundance, even limited
love is a blessing. An open heart is a miracle, yes, but a
closed heart is also to be honoured.

So you can let others love you as much as they do.

You are no longer a beggar for love.
For you know the true source of love:
YOU...

Like themselves

From Ladies Pass it On

WOMEN WHO LIKE THEMSELVES

Women who like themselves,
give out a totally different light.

It's like pure unfiltered sunshine mixed with that heady
golden-hour glow you only seem to find on holiday.
As the sun takes its leave of the day and makes way
for the promise of night.

That light,
which makes everything and everyone appear so much more
beautiful, as the air is filled with something special,
something which sparks joy,
deep within your heart.

Seek out the women who like themselves,
for they will like you too.
Their eyes are not the judging kind.

And if you find these women and watch them closely enough,
something magical may just occur,
you may learn how to like yourself too.

Just a little bit.

Steal me away

by Athey Thompson, from A Little Book of Poetry

Come steal me away
If only for a day
O, what joy it shall be
Just you and me

Shall we take upon a walk
With plenty of time to talk
Or, let's just catch the air
As the day shall be so fair

Let's take this moment's chance
And together, hand in hand we shall dance
for us, today is but a dream, you see

Why, what else could it be

Unexplored adventures

From SHE On The Tip Of Her Tongue

I think midlife is when the universe gently places her
hands upon your shoulders, pulls you close, and
whispers in your ear:

"I'm not screwing around. It's time. All of this pretending
and performing - these coping mechanisms that you've
developed to protect yourself from feeling inadequate
and getting hurt - has to go.

Time is growing short. There are unexplored adventures
ahead of you. You can't live the rest of your life worried
about what other people think.

You were born worthy of love and belonging. Courage
and daring are coursing through you.
You were made to live and love with your whole heart.
It's time to show up and be seen."

Mission

 By Susan Frybort

MISSION

To survive you had to pay attention. You had to listen
and learn the rules, then follow them closely. But your
needs were kept from being expressed inside these
rules. Eventually, you began to question the validity of
your needs, and even lost trust in your own judgment.

When you must hide what you really want or require,
there is no space for confidence to fly freely. There's no
room for trust to grow. No opportunity to learn from
what it is you've been craving. It's not joyous or
satisfying when you make it your main purpose to
please others and reject your hunger to actualize.

Now your walk, your steadfast Mission, becomes about
You. Your survival defenses are no longer required and
your responses to appease are ready to be released.
And your new practice is to allow yourself to express
and unquestionably believe in your deepest needs.

Don't forget

 From Ladies Pass it On

Don't forget to switch out of survival mode,
when you're ready.
You've been in it for quite some time, we all have.
We had to switch in order to endure.
And we have endured, we have coped, we have pulled
through.
What a story we have to tell others one day.

But, in the meantime, you must remember to switch back
to "living" mode.
Slowly,
little by little.

The real danger is through.
And you have done so beautifully, the sun and the joy of
this life now awaits you.
Your reward awaits you.

Don't forget to switch out of survival mode, when you're
ready my friend.

When you're ready.

Who am I

 From Godly Woman Daily

While praying one day a woman asked,
"Who are you, God?" He answered, "I am."
"But who is, 'I am?' she asked.
He replied, "I am love, I am peace, I am grace, I am joy,
I am strength, I am safety, I am shelter, I am power,
I am the creator, I am the comforter,
I am the beginning and the end.
I am the way, truth, and the light."
With tears in her eyes she looked toward heaven
and said, "Now I understand. But, who am I?"
God tenderly wiped the tears from her eyes and
whispered, "You are mine."
