Never cared

You're pretty dumb if you think I never cared
because God only knows
how many times I broke my own heart for you.

Love anything

 by C.S. Lewis

Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket - safe, dark, motionless, airless - it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable...To love is to be vulnerable.

Thorns

I've recorded a few of these stories from I Love Psalms, and even though I don't like how they're written, I really like the messages...

Dear God, I have never thanked you for my thorns.
I have thanked you a thousand times for my roses,
but never once for my thorns.
Teach me the glory of the cross I bear;
teach me the value of my thorns.
Show me that I have climbed closer to you
along the path of pain.
Show me that, through my tears, the
colors of your rainbow look much more brilliant.

Sandra felt as low as the heels of her shoes as she pushed against a November gust and the florist shop
door. Her life had been easy, like a spring breeze. Then in the fourth month of her second pregnancy, a minor automobile stole her ease.

During this Thanksgiving week she would have delivered a son. She grieved over her loss. As if that weren't enough, her husband's company threatened a transfer. Then her sister, whose annual holiday visit she coveted, called saying she couldn't come.

What's worse, Sandra's friend infuriated her by suggesting her grief was a God-given path to maturity that would allow her to empathize with others who suffer. "She has no idea what I'm feeling," thought Sandra with a shudder.

"Thanksgiving? Thankful for what?" she wondered aloud. For a careless driver whose truck was hardly scratched when he rear-ended her? For an airbag that saved her life but took that of her child?

"Good afternoon, can I help you?"

The shop clerk's approach startled her.

"I...I need an arrangement," stammered Sandra. "For Thanksgiving."

Do you want beautiful but ordinary, or would you like to challenge the day with a customer favorite I call the Thanksgiving Special?"

"I'm convinced that flowers tell stories," she continued.

"Are you looking for something that conveys 'gratitude' this Thanksgiving?"

"Not exactly!" Sandra blurted out. "In the last five months, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong." Sandra regretted her outburst, and was surprised when the shop clerk said, "I have the perfect arrangement for you."

Then the door's small bell rang, and the shop clerk said, "Hi Barbara...let me get your order." She politely excused herself and walked toward a small workroom, then quickly reappeared, carrying an arrangement of greenery, bows, and long-stemmed thorny roses.

Except the ends of the rose stems were neatly snipped...there were no flowers.

"Want this in a box?" asked the clerk.

Sandra watched for the customer's response. Was this a joke? Who would want rose stems with no flowers!?! She waited for laughter, but neither woman laughed. "Yes, please," Barbara replied with an appreciative smile.

"You'd think after three years of getting the special, I wouldn't be so moved by its significance, but I can feel it right here, all over again," she said as she gently tapped her chest.

"Uhh," stammered Sandra, "that lady just left with, uhh..she just left with no flowers!"

"Right...I cut off the flowers. That's the Special...I call it the Thanksgiving Thorns Bouquet."

"Oh, come on, you can't tell me someone is willing to pay for that?" exclaimed Sandra.

"Barbara came into the shop three years ago feeling very much like you feel today," explained the clerk. "She thought she had very little to be thankful for. She had lost her father to cancer, the family business was failing, her son was into drugs, and she was facing major surgery.

"That same year I had lost my husband," continued the clerk, "and for the first time in my life, I had to spend the holidays alone. I had no children, no husband, no family nearby, and too great a debt to allow any travel.

"So what did you do?" asked Sandra. "I learned to be thankful for thorns," answered the clerk quietly. "I've always thanked God for good things in life and never thought to ask Him why those good things happened to me, but when bad stuff hit, did I ever ask! It took time for me to learn that dark times are important."

"I always enjoyed the 'flowers' of life, but it took thorns to show me the beauty of God's comfort. You know, the Bible says that God comforts us when we're afflicted, and from His consolation we learn to comfort others."

Sandra sucked in her breath as she thought about the very thing her friend had tried to tell her. "I guess the truth is I don't want comfort."

"I've lost a baby and I'm angry with God."

Just then someone else walked into the shop.

"Hey, Phil!" shouted the clerk to the balding, rotund man.

"My wife sent me in to get out usual Thanksgiving arrangement...twelve thorny, long-stemmed stems!" laughed Phil as the clerk handed him a tissue-wrapped arrangement from the refrigerator.

"Those are for your wife?" asked Sandra incredulously. "Do you mind me asking why she wants something that looks like that?"

"No, I'm glad you asked," Phil replied. "Four years ago my wife and I nearly divorced. After forty years, we were in a real mess, but with the Lord's grace and guidance, we slogged through problem after problem.

"He rescued our marriage. Jenny here (the clerk) told me she kept a vase of rose stems to remind her what she learned from 'thorny' times, and that was good enough for me. I took home some of those stems. My wife and I decided to label each one for a specific 'problem' and give thanks to Him for what that problem taught us."

As Phil paid the clerk, he said to Sandra, "I highly recommend the Special!"

"I don't know if I can be thankful for the thorns in my life," Sandra said to the clerk. "It's all too fresh."

"Well," the clerk replied carefully, "my experience has shown me that thorns make roses more precious. We treasure God's providential care more during trouble than at any other time."

"Remember, it was a crown of thorns that Jesus wore so we might know His love. Don't resent the thorns."

Tears rolled down Sandra's cheeks. For the first time since the accident, she loosened her grip on resentment. "I'll take those twelve long-stemmed thorns, please," she managed to choke out.

"I hoped you would," said the clerk gently. "I'll have them ready in a minute."

"Thank you. What do I owe you?" asked Sandra.

"Nothing," said the clerk.

"Nothing but a promise to allow God to heal your heart. The first year's arrangement is always on me." The clerk smiled and handed a card to Sandra.

"I'll attach this card to your first arrangement, but maybe you'd like to read it first."

It read:

"Dear God, I have never thanked you for my thorns. I have thanked you a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns. Teach me the glory of the cross I bear; teach me the value of my thorns. Show me that I have climbed closer to you along the path of pain.

Show me that, through my tears, the colors of your rainbow look much more brilliant."

The pit

God pulled you out of the pit,
so you could go back in
and get more people out.

Never forget that.

A choice

News

 From God's Revival 2018

Children most of you say Lord I trust you. Yet you are still plagued with anxiety. You are a good news junkie. Every day you await some news. If it's good there is a temporary release from the anxiety for a short time. If it's bad news your anxiety is on the overload. Try not to be impacted by what surrounds you good or bad. Rather put your hope and trust in Me. I assure you your worrying does not change a thing. If anything it helps build doubt in others. Trust in Me and cast your cares and burdens on Me. Enter into my peace and rest in Me.

Loving someone

Do you think you have a choice in
loving someone? The answer will always
be - no. Your soul picks who you love
and your heart seals the deal. How
little a choice we have over such things
when your heart knows what it wants
and your soul knows when it's real.

Prosperity

 From God's Revival 2018

The prosperity message brought some to the kingdom, unfortunately it did not teach them to deny their flesh. Prosperity comes so that one can bless others. The kingdom is all about being a blessing to others. Some of you were taught to give 10 percent, but others understand at times you may be led to give 100 percent. Those who are led by the Holy Spirit are true children of the light. A cheerful giver is rewarded and in due time they will have an abundance. Those who understand these mysteries shall always have more than enough.

Deepest fear

A repost but definitely worth repeating...

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.     ~Marianne Williamson

The most beautiful heart

One day a young man was standing in the middle of town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart.

Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said, "Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine." The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't quite fit right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places, there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing. How can he say his heart is more beautiful they thought! The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw its state and laughed. "You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears."

"Yes," said the old man. "Yours is perfect-looking but I would never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart, which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces aren't exact, some have rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared.

Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of his heart to me. These are the empty gouges - giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?"

The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands. The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart. It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges. The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man's heart was in his. They embraced and walked away side by side.

Moral - Love one another sincerely just as your father God loves you.

End of the day

Posted by Dave Ramsey

At the end of the day, know that you're not crazy, broken, or alone. We've created a world that our bodies are struggling to live in, in most cases, your body is working perfectly - it's the lives we're around our bodies that are making us bonkers! There is light at the end of the tunnel. Get connection, change your thoughts, and change your actions. Put in the work it takes to be well. You're worth it.

~Dr. John Delony

Save everyone

You can't save everyone, and I know you, with that big, beautiful heart will always try to save everyone, even the ones that hurt you. But, babe...I hope you remember, not everyone has a heart like yours, not everyone can be saved, but you can...you can. Save yourself. I dare you to put yourself first for once and save yourself. You're worth it.

Not yet

Kind of a weird story but love the message...

There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups. This was their 25th wedding anniversary.

One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup. They said, "May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful."

As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke. "You don't understand," it said. "I haven't always been a teacup."

"There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, 'Let me alone,' but he only smiled, 'Not yet.'"

"Then I was placed on a spinning wheel," the teacup said, "and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. 'Stop it! I'm getting dizzy!' I screamed. But the master only nodded and said, "Not yet.'"

"Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled and knocked at the door. I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head, 'Not yet.'"

"Finally the door opened, he put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. 'There, that's better,' I said. And he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. I thought I would gag. 'Stop it, stop it!' I cried. He only nodded, 'Not yet.'"

"Then suddenly he put me back into the oven, not like the first one."

"This was twice as hot and I knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried. All the time I could see him through the opening nodding his head saying, 'Not yet.'"

"Then I knew there wasn't any hope. I would never make it. I was ready to give up. But the door opened and he took me out and placed me on the shelf. One hour later he handed me a mirror and said, 'Look at yourself.' And I did. I said, 'That's not me, that couldn't be me. It's beautiful. I'm beautiful.'"

"'I want you to remember then,' he said. 'I know it hurts to be rolled and patted, but if I had left you alone, you'd have dried up.'"

"I know I made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I knew it hurt and was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked.'"

"I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened, you would have had any color in your life. And if I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't survive for very long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. You are what I had in mind when I first began with you.'"

God knows what He's doing (for all of us). He is the Potter, and we are His clay. He will mold us and make us, so that we may be made into a flawless piece of work to fulfill His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

1 Corinthians 10:13: No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Grows up

 When a man grows
up he fully
understands the worth
of a woman...
He doesn't lie to her,
cheat on her,
play games with her heart,
put her down or make
her feel unappreciated.
Instead, he cherishes her,
respects her, loves putting
a smile on her face,
honors her.
stays fully committed to her.

Your life

Our bodies are designed to respond and even
grow from focused, short-term stress.

Chaotic, long-term stress is killing us.
We have to do something different.

Get off social media.
Say no to caffeine after 10 am.
Pay off all your debt.
Spend intentional time with friends/romantic partners.
Exercise and make sleep a priority.
Control what you can control.
Be intentional.
Stop saying you can't.

Take back your life.

A gift to me

When my kids are grown one day,
I want them to look back at their
childhood and think,
"Wow, Mom really enjoyed us."

I want them to know that the privilege
of being their mom was always greater
than any hardship, annoyance, or
inconvenience. I want them to know
what a gift they were to me
every single day.

It's Brave

 I Think It's Brave

I think it's brave that you get up
in the morning even if your soul is weary
and your bones ache for a rest.

I think it's brave that you keep on
living even if you don't know how to
anymore.

I think it's brave that you push
away the waves rolling in every day
and you decide to fight.

I know there are days when you
feel like giving up but I think it's brave
that you never do.

Every storm

 God is saying today...
Trust me. I've stayed with you
through every storm in your life.
I've given you all that you need.
I have, and always will protect
you, your family and your
loved ones.
Things might be difficult for you
now, but trust Me and My timing.
A change in your circumstances
is coming. Trust in Me and
enjoy this new day.

Big dreams

From Victoria Osteen

You may have big dreams, but nobody is noticing you. God has spoken promises over you, but you're not seeing increase and promotion. Don't get discouraged. Nothing is wrong. It's because God has you hidden. You're not off course or getting behind; you're in a time of preparation, a time of training. God is getting you ready for what He has in store. If you keep doing the right thing, you will come into a time when God will cause you to be seen.

Faith not feeling

not feeling in Him.

Real worship

Real Worship
by A.W. Tozer

If you do not have this fascination, it could be that you are but another Esau. What a tragedy to be born of the red clay and live and die and be buried in the red clay. Shakespeare said of Caesar, "That though he be the emperor yet give nature time and nature will reduce him to a bit of clay that might be used to keep the wind away." The great Persian poet Omar Khayyam said, "When you drink out of that vessel, drink reverently; it may be your grandfather's dust out of which it is made." What a tragedy to be born out of the red clay and live a secular, earthly life and then die and be buried out of sight in that same red clay. But if you feel the charm, the tug and the pull of God, you will know what the Holy Spirit meant when he said, "I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship" (Romans 12:1). How do you get out of the religious rut? You get out of the rut by giving God your all, letting God have you completely. Concentrate your whole life on God and His Son Jesus Christ. Then seek to know the sweet fascination of loving God. You cannot stay asleep very long when the beauty of Jesus is before your eyes. Some have been asleep long enough. If you could only wake to the voice of your Beloved. If you could only be awakened and roused and hear Him speak, it would be sweeter than the voice of the mocking bird, sweeter than the sound of the harp. The voice of God's Son--that would get you out of the rut, and that would get you out of your sleep. Jesus Christ is God's music, God's poetry, God's art, God's beauty, God's all.

Desk quotes

Was cleaning my desk at work today and some quotes. I wasn't sure if I had them recorded or not so I thought I would just to make sure.

From Camp Cobeac:
Christianity is a Person.
Eternal life is a relationship with that Person.
Ministry is helping others with that relationship.

_____________

We don't have time, energy, or space for toxic people.

_____________

The time will pass anyway, so you can either spend it creating the life you want or spend it living the life you don't want. The choice is yours.

_____________

Never regret a day in your life:
good days give happiness,
bad days give experience,
worst days give lessons,
and best days give memories.

_____________

There has never been a day when God has panicked and thought -
she's ruined everything.

_____________

This notepad said Christine Caine quotes, so not sure if that means all of the following:

Faith is believing God is who He says He is, and that He will do what He said He would do.

Fear is no match for the Spirit of God who lives inside of us!

God uses the unlikely to do the unimaginable.

There is nothing you can do that can make God love you any less.

You grow when you feed your spirit more than you feed your flesh.

If God said it, God can do it!

God created you on purpose for a purpose - and He never wants fear of the unexpected to hold you back.

We are a product of eternity, positioned in time, and given gifts and talents to serve our generation!

You now you're growing when you desire God Himself more than what you can get from Him.

Jesus always walks with us, through our disappointment, through our heartaches...leading us to recover our wonder, leading us to something better ahead...

If you don't know what God really said, you will fall for what anybody says.

Healthy things grow, and growing things change!

You know you've grown when you truly care about the impact your words and deeds have on others.

Potential is the untapped, God-given power in us to multiply all that has been entrusted to us!

God wants us living on mission, fulfilling all He has called us to do!

Stay faithful where you are and God will take you to your destiny and purpose.

Remember how far God has brought you, blessed you, provided for you, protected you, favored you, and loved you!

God will always make a way where there is no way - though it may not be what we expected.

You have favor with God because of who you are in Christ!

If you are in Christ, you are called to lead.

God always prepares us for the place He has prepared for us.

Impossible is where God starts and miracles are what God does.

God wants us to learn how to accept every unexpected event as an invitation to trust Him.

You grow when your trust in God exceeds your anxiety about the future.

When we expect instead of worry, then we can live with a heart full of hope.

Introverts

People always tell introverts to be more talkative and leave their comfort zones,
yet no one tells extroverts to shut up to make the zone comfortable.

What has been lost

 From God's Revival 2018

Do not be surprised when situations don't work out to your liking. When turmoil and hardship follow you home you will understand why. When the enemy plays havoc with your finances and relationships do not be amazed. I have called you to sanctify you life holy unto Me. I have shown you the way and still you struggle because you have allowed a place for the enemy to have a foothold. Repent, rebuke the enemy and take back what you have lost. Seek My righteousness and walk in holiness. Begin right now and don't look back. Walk in the light as I am in the light. Do not make excuses for the flesh or it will steal your life. Come and walk with Me in holiness and I will restore to you what has been lost.

Your value

Your value doesn't decrease just because someone can't see your worth.

The struggle

Have experienced this many times over...

How you see the struggle
could be the struggle.
Trust God.

Bad day

It's just a bad day.
Not a bad life.

Perfect

 There is no perfect life,

Seek Me

From God's Revival 2018

Seek Me with all of your might. Let Me be upon your mind your heart and soul. Let there be no other. For it is I who have brought provision. I have sustained your health. I have kept you safe. I have brought peace to your body and given you a place of rest. I have made a way where there was no way. I have blessed the fruit of your loins. I have answered every request. I have made you a fortified city. You have been established as a pillar in My temple. I have given you life abundantly. I have separated you from all unrighteousness. I have built you up as to withstand the storm. In the time of the flood you shall not be moved nor shall your walls give way. I have given you life when you were ready to give it up. I brought you from the darkness into the marvelous light. You are one of My great masterpieces. Remember that I am the potter and you are the clay. You are here for My purpose. I will show you off because you have kept My word. You have trusted Me in the darkest times. Your faith has brought you from the bottom to the top. And because you have desired righteousness instead of wickedness I shall establish your peace with Me for eternity. Blessed are those that keep themselves holy. Blessed are those that put Me first. Blessed are those that have overcome their flesh and all the temptations of the world. Blessed are you because you have proved yourself as a doer and not merely one who is a hearer. Blessed are you who have been approved. Blessed are those who wear the garments of righteousness. Blessed are those who have chosen Me.

Kind of love

I believe in the kind of love that
doesn't demand me to prove my
worth and sit in anxiety. I crave a
natural connection, where my soul
is able to recognize a feeling of
home in another. Something
free-flowing, something simple.
Something that allows me to be
me without question...

Refiner's Fire

 by A.W. Tozer

Refiner's Fire

Slowly you will discover God's love in your suffering. Your heart will begin to approve the whole thing. You will learn from yourself what all the schools in the world could not teach you--the healing action of faith without supporting pleasure. You will feel and understand the ministry of the night; its power to purify, to detach, to humble, to destroy the fear of death and, what is more important to you at the moment, the fear of life. And you will learn that sometimes pain can do what even joy cannot, such as exposing the vanity of earth's trifles and filling your heart with longing for the peace of heaven. What I write here is in no way original. This has been discovered anew by each generation of Christian seekers and is almost a clich of the deeper life. Yet it needs to be said to this generation of believers often and with emphasis, for the type of Christianity now in vogue does not include anything as serious and as difficult as this. The quest of the modern Christian is likely to be for peace of mind and spiritual joy, with a good degree of material prosperity thrown in as external proof of the divine favor. Some will understand this, however, even if the number is relatively small, and they will constitute the hard core of practicing saints so badly needed at this serious hour if New Testament Christianity is to survive the next generation.

Prayer

 From God's Revival 2018

This word was given to me in the third hour past the midnight hour for an individual that is traveling from Pakistan to Dubai. He called me and woke me and asked me to pray. While I was praying another man from India called and asked me to pray as he might come to the USA. Then the Lord said this word was for him. The Lord just told me that this word is for you. So please seek the Lord for He is gathering His leaders for a mighty whirlwind of revelation and revival is coming. Put Him first and you and yours shall not be left behind. No matter the hour no matter the place I am with you My servant. I shall never leave you nor forsake you. As long as you keep Me first and foremost I shall always make a way. Have I not kept My word and My promise to you. Have you not felt My power and My love. Learn to walk with Me in the supernatural and you shall have power over the elements. A time is coming when I shall move you from one place to another like the angels. You shall travel and minister to different people on different parts of the world and all in one day. Sow to My holiness and enter into My secret place and you shall mount up on eagles wings and you shall walk in victory. There is much work to do and only a little time to do it. Feed My sheep and prepare those with wisdom and knowledge that I bring before you. Pray for those to be healed that are sick. Pray for those that are hungry and seek My guidance and I will bring heaven to earth. Those who seek Me with all of their mind, their heart and soul shall not go without. Teach My children to walk in My statutes and they will be mighty warrior in the heavenly realm, and they shall lead many to salvation. Wisdom

From God's Revival 2018

Wisdom belongs to the righteous and folly strives with the foolish. A man who receives correction has an inner strength that is hidden, but those who continue in error shall reap calamity. A man full of faith can go without but those that are full of fear will make reckless choices. Those who wait on the Lord and endure hardship for His name's sake shall be rewarded in due time. But those who are short on patience will be deceived by their own imagination. He who works and supports his household wears a crown of determination but he who is lazy will soon lose his home and be sleeping under a bridge. Those who delight in the word of God shall be satisfied but those who neglect His precepts shall go without. A man who serves the Lord shall always find provision but those that hear the voice of the world shall find adversity. Precious are the prayers of the righteous but the wicked grumble and curse and shall soon meet their end. Only those that glorify God and live to worship Him shall be blessed. As a man sows, so shall he reap, so let every man plant good seed and walk in the light. He who worships God with a clean heart will receive all that the Lord has stored up for him but he that is silent before the Lord will receive nothing, and emptiness and need will be his only friend.

Rejoice or grumble

 By A.W. Tozer

REJOICE - OR GRUMBLE

I think all of us meet Christian men and women who always seem to look on the gloomy side and are never able to do anything with life's problems but grumble about them! I meet them often and when I do, I wonder: "Can these people be reading and trusting the same Bible I have been reading?" The Apostle Peter wrote to the tempted, suffering and persecuted believers in his day and noted with thanksgiving that they could rejoice because they counted God's promises and provisions greater than their trials! We do live in a sinful and imperfect world, and as believers in Christ we acknowledge that perfection is a relative thing now-and God has not really completed a thing with us, as yet! Peter testified that the persecution and suffering Christians of his day were looking, in faith, to a future state of things immeasurably better than that which they knew, and that state of things would be perfect and complete!

So blessed

 From God's Revival 2018

Sons and daughters heed My instructions. Carefully and diligently do all that I have put before you. I have made a way for you to be successful. You shall prosper in this land. I shall bring forth a harvest that shall feed you and give you an abundance that will give you more than you need. Plant the seeds and water them and you shall reap much more than you have sown. Have a grateful heart and allow praises of thanksgiving to be on your lips as you meditate on My word each morning. Keep your zeal for Me alive. Do not be as your ancestors before you. Their success made them prideful. It is My desire to bless you but you must remain humble and appreciative. Your future is dependent on your actions. Worship Me daily and I will keep you safe. Love Me with all of your mind and heart and soul and I shall continue to bless you and your family. For you have been chosen to testify of Me. Others will wonder how you are so blessed and you shall explain that by your obedience to Me, I have poured out the blessings from above.

Everything you need

 From Max Lucado

If you have the Shepherd,
you have grace for every sin,
direction for every turn,
a candle for every corner
and an anchor for every storm.
You have everything you need.

Too much

 From @theguidedword

For the woman that has been called "too much",

Baby, I hope you are a raw display of
human emotion. A fountain of
expression.

I hope you pour out empathy,
compassion, and sadness.

I hope you own your own passion and
determination.

No more numbing to make society
comfortable. No more stifling your
expression.

And it will, in fact, be too much for some
people.

That is because those people have not yet
dealt with their own emotions.

Have grace for them.

Internal struggle

 From Vintage Vivids

When you finally learn
that a person's behavior has more to
 do with their internal
struggle than it ever
 did with you, you learn
grace.
