Why cheat?...We know people who
try to make it work.
Some seek counselling and advice. Others choose to have the
difficult conversation and formally end the relationship first.
So why cheat when there are less hurtful and more respectful ways
to handle dissatisfaction?
One of the most common reasons is that the cheater cannot afford
to lose the main relationship.
They want the excitement, validation, or escape that comes with
someone new, but they are still emotionally, financially, or
practically dependent on the stability of their main partner.
So instead of choosing honestly, they try to keep both.
Because they need the stability of the main relationship to fully
enjoy the affair.
