Something small

God: Send her something small today.
Angel: What kind of small?
God: The kind of small she'll almost dismiss. A song that
catches her off guard. A moment of light in the kitchen. A
stranger's kindness she wasn't expecting. A memory that makes
her smile before she knows why.
Angel: She won't know it's from you.
God: She doesn't have to. Not right away. I'm not sending it for
the credit. I'm sending it because she needs to know she's not
walking through today alone. I want her to feel a little lighter
without knowing why.
Angel: And later? When she looks back?
God: She'll start to notice the pattern. The small moments that
showed up right when she needed them. The tenderness that
arrived without her asking. She'll trace it back to me eventually.
Angel: For now?
God: For now, just send it. Let her feel loved today, even if she
can't name where it's coming from.

Something different

 From She Rises

For three years,
Jesus loved someone
He knew would end up
betraying Him.

He spent His time healing the sick
and offering grace to those
filled with regrets.

The Savior of the world
surrounded Himself
with people others shunned.

Being like Jesus often means
something very different
than what we think it does.

Repay

 From Civil Engr Juan Garza

"I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten."
Joel 2:25 (NIV)

Friend, can we talk about the word years in this
verse?

Not days. Not weeks. Not a hard season that
lasted a few months. Years. God is speaking to
people who have watched locusts strip everything
- crops, livelihood, hope - year after year after
year. And into that accumulated, compounded,
seemingly irreversible loss, He speaks one of the
most extraordinary promises in all of Scripture.

I will repay you.

"God does not promise to stop the locusts. He
promises to repay what they took. He is not just a
God who ends the loss - He is a God who
restores it. Every year of it."

So many of us are carrying a loss that is measured
not in days but in years. Years of a marriage that
was slowly consumed by something neither
person knew how to stop. Years of a health battle
that took more than a body - it took time, dreams,
plans, the version of life that was supposed to
happen. Years spent in a career that turned out to
be a dead end. Years raising a child who walked
away. Years of financial struggle that never
seemed to turn the corner. And the accumulation
of those years can start to feel like too much even
for God to reach. Too much lost. Too much time
gone. Too far behind to ever catch up.

But Joel 2:25 speaks directly into that
accumulated loss. The word repay in the original
Hebrew is the word shalam - the root of the word
shalom. It means to make whole. To complete. To
restore to a state of wholeness and peace. God is
not just going to give something back. He is going
to make things whole again. The years the locusts
consumed - the time, the opportunity, the joy, the
relationships, the health - God says He is going to
restore it to a place of completeness that the loss
never fully destroyed.

"The God who made time is not limited by time.
He can do more in one season of restoration than
the locusts stole across many years. That is not
math - that is a miracle."

And here it what is so stunning about this
promise. God takes personal responsibility for the
repayment. Not - the situation will improve. Not -
things will work out eventually. I will repay. God
Himself is the guarantor of the restoration. He is
putting His name on it. The years are not lost
forever. They are on a ledger that God has
promised to settle. And when God settles a debt,
He does not settle it minimally. He settles it with
abundance.

The lost years are not gone forever.
They are on God's ledger. And He has promised to repay.
Not partially. Not eventually maybe.

I WILL REPAY. HIS WORDS. HIS PROMISE. HIS NAME ON IT.

PRAYER:
Lord, we bring You the years. The ones the locusts
consumed. The time we cannot get back, the dreams
that were stripped away, the losses that
accumulated until they felt permanent. We trust
Your promise today. You are the God who repays.
Who restores. Who makes whole what was
broken. We do not know how You will do it. We just
trust that You will. Lord God Almighty we pray in
the Mighty Name of Your Son Jesus Christ, Amen.

Marked

 By Steve De'lano Garcia

"You can always recognize the woman God has
marked, because life hits her like it has a personal
grudge and she still gets back up with fire in her eyes
and worship on her lips. She gets dragged through
grief, betrayal, silence, shame, and pressure heavy
enough to crush softer people, yet somehow she rises
again, not polished, not delicate, but fiercer, wiser,
and far harder to shake. People watch her crawl
through what should have buried her and wonder
why she is still standing, still breathing, still lifting
her voice to God as if hell itself failed to make her
bow. That is how you know. Favor does not mean
she was spared the pain; it means she was carried
through it, held in it, and brought out of it with a
presence that unsettles anyone who thought she
would disappear. She does not stand there because life
was kind. She stands there because God decided that
what came for her would not get the final word."

Broken crayons

Broken Crayons

He says, "wait."
We ask "how long?"
He says, "I have something better."
We say, "but it hurts."
He says, "My plan is for you."
We say, "I don't feel it."

The problem is -
we use broken crayons
to draw the picture of
what we think our life
should look like and hold
it up to a God who formed
mountains from His own
breath.

Faith

Linda and I were just talking about this over the weekend...

God is not going to wake you up with a
detailed roadmap for your life because
He wants you to trust in Him, not a plan.

If you knew every step, every turn, and
exactly when you would arrive, faith
would not be necessary. You would rely
on your own understanding rather than
walking in trust.

Faith is not about having all the answers.
It is about believing even when you
cannot see, trusting even when you do
not understand, and holding on even
when everything feels uncertain. Faith
means walking forward despite the
unknown because you are confident in
the One who leads you.

It is not about clarity. It is about
confidence in God's faithfulness.

Would help

If you'd hurt me, it would help.
It would make every step more freeing
to walk away.

Because holding on to you
is destroying every shred of peace
in my life.

But the thought of releasing you
is more painful than words
can describe.

~Morgan Richard Olivier

Reminded

Sometimes we just need to be reminded of this:
God will make a way
prayer changes everything
God is always fighting for you
God has great plans for your life
God breaks chains, not promises
God's in control of every situation
even in the waiting, He's working
God will connect you with the right people
God removes and God replaces
God knows what you need, go to Him
put God first and everything else will follow
taking time to be with God is the best place to find strength

Hurtful things

We must let go
Of those hurtful things
That burn and hiss
And bite and sting.

That hurt the heart
And clip our wings,
Where we can't fly
And we can't sing.

I think it's time
To turn the page,
Turn to the light
And quiet the rage.

Forgive the slights
We cannot change,
And spread our wings
To escape this cage.

Afterglow

I saw this taped into a sympathy card that Kitty & Bob sent to Mom/Gma after your accident:

Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.

I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I have
when life is done.

~Helen Lowrie

Fighting me

Whoever is fighting me is fighting God.

And God has never lost a battle.

Not one.

Not ever.

Real connection

I don't know who needs to hear this, but
one difficult conversation, one bad night,
or one moment when your insecurity got
the better of you does not end
something that was meant to last.

Real connection is sturdier than that and it
can hold you at less than your best.

The point

 Marriage vows exist
because feelings move.
The promise was built
for the days the feeling
isn't there, and that was
always the point.

Won

 By May Ann Mateo Rigor

To the husband who thought he won: you may
have traded the woman who loved you deeply for
a moment you will spend years trying to
understand.

She wasn't just your wife. She was the woman
who believed you when you gave her your word.
The one who stood beside you when life wasn't
easy. She carried parts of your life that nobody
else saw. She trusted you with her heart because
she thought, after everything you had built
together, you were the one person she never had
to protect herself from.

Then she found out.

And something inside her changed that no
apology could completely repair. She didn't only
cry over another woman. She cried over every
memory she suddenly couldn't look at the same
way. Every "I love you." Every promise. Every
ordinary moment she thought was real. She had to
grieve the man she thought she married while still
looking at the man standing in front of her.

Maybe you think you won because someone else
wanted you. Maybe the attention made you feel
alive again. But don't confuse being desired with
being loved. You had someone who knew your
flaws, your struggles, your worst days, and still
chose you. That kind of love is not easy to replace.

And maybe one day when the excitement is gone
and the silence becomes harder to ignore, you'll
remember the woman who once would have done
anything to protect your marriage. You may finally
understand what you threw away.

But by then, she may have learned to live
without you. And that may be the one
consequence you cannot talk your way out of.

Staying married

 Staying married is a
Kingdom mission to love
the unlovable and to show
grace and mercy to each
other even during
undeserving moments. It's
not about loving the
spotless bride or groom; it's
holding on to the covenant
by loving each other even
with the spots and wrinkles
for God's glory.

As good as it gets

God just wants
our fish and loaves.
That's it.

When the little child
handed over everything
he had, that's when
the miracle happened.

Not one loaf.
Or one piece of fish.
All he had.
The full basket.

And it makes me
wonder how often
I've only fed myself,
convinced that it was
as good as it gets.

~ullie-kaye

With integrity

 People with integrity
feel ashamed when
they know they're
wrong.
People without it glorify
their mistakes, play the
victim, and refuse to
take accountability.

Could be

 i was so afraid
of the person
i would be
without you
that i never
thought about
the person
i could be
without you

Confession

I am glad that he at least sent me the police report himself and I didn't have to find out on my own...

She may forgive a
confession, but she will
absolutely never forgive
discovering the truth on
her own after being
gaslit into believing she
was losing her mind for
simply suspecting it all along.

There is a specific kind of betrayal that cuts deeper than the lie itself and that is being made to question your own sanity while the lie was happening. She came to him with her gut feeling and he looked her in the eyes and made her feel paranoid, insecure, and irrational for trusting what she already knew. Then she found the truth herself. Not through him finally being honest but through her own pain and persistence. That is unforgivable not because she cannot heal but because he chose to damage her mind and her trust simultaneously. She deserved the truth from the very beginning.

Stop overthinking

 STOP OVERTHINKING.

IF IT'S GOD'S WILL, IT'LL
HAPPEN AND NOTHING WILL
STOP IT. IF IT'S NOT, HE HAS
 A BETTER PLAN. HAVE
PEACE IN KNOWING THAT.

The detour

I saw a quote today
that's been stuck in
my mind ever since:

"God protects you in
a way that feels like
bad luck at first."

Trust the detour.

Being ignored

When a woman is faced with a situation
where she is being ignored by her
partner,
there are two ways she will respond.

First, she will get angry, seem demanding,
and always ask, "What did I do wrong?"
If she does that, it means she's still trying
to save the relationship.

Second, she will choose to stay silent and
not care.
That means her heart is truly exhausted.,
and she's trying to save her own peace of mind.

Decide

 An unhealed person can
find offense in pretty much
anything someone does.

A healed person understands
that the actions of others
have nothing to do with them.

Each day you get to decide
which one you will be.

Stop

If you're lying awake tonight wondering how you're
supposed to stop loving them, don't try to stop all at
once; just stop reaching for them. Stop checking on
them, stop reopening the wound, and let the feelings
exist without acting on them. Eventually, the space
between what you feel and what you do will become
the place where your healing takes place.

~Mark Smith

The ability

You have the
ability to move
entire planets
with your love,
yet you've
settled for
lovers who
wouldn't touch a
mountain for you.

Lost you

You didn't lose him, he lost you.
Because what did you really lose?
A man who can't communicate?
A man who gets mad when you express your feelings?
A man who entertains other women?

An emotionally unavailable man?

No, you didn't lose a single thing of value.
You gained the freedom to find someone
who truly values and respects you,
who can communicate honestly,
and who is emotionally available.

You gained absolutely everything by
letting go of a man who never
deserved you in the first place.

Ask yourself

 From Divorce Lawyer Denise

YOU START DETACHING FROM AN AVOIDANT
THE MOMENT YOU ASK YOURSELF THIS:

Is this how I want to be loved for the rest of my life?

Or would you rather be with someone who
chooses you every day? Someone whose
presence doesn't make you anxious about being
left.

Someone who listens to your needs instead of
running from them...Who tries to meet you
halfway instead of creating distance when things
get uncomfortable.

A partner who stays, even during conflict. Who
doesn't disappear when emotions get intense, but
remains present and engaged.

Someone who thinks about how their actions
affect you. And who is willing to take responsibility
when something hurts, instead of avoiding it.

A relationship where you can speak freely without fear.

Where you don't have to walk on eggshells or
constantly worry that saying the wrong thing will
push them away.

A love where disagreements are moments for
understanding and growth. Not reasons to shut
down, leave, or turn the relationship into a power
struggle.

Someone who includes you in their life and future.

Who builds with you instead of keeping you at a
distance while you wait.

Not competing

A wife is not competing with the
other woman.
From the very beginning,
they were never on the same level.
In commitment, she is the one who
was chosen.
In loyalty, she is the one who stayed.
In dignity, she has nothing to prove.
The other woman was never the
prize.
She was simply a distraction that
revealed someone's lack of
character.

Real love

By Noer Kim

The Day I Realized You Never Really Loved Me

The hardest part wasn't the arguments.

It was watching you see me hurting
and still choosing to do nothing about it.

You watched me cry.
You watched me fall apart.
You knew your actions were breaking my heart...
yet nothing ever changed.

That's when I understood --
that isn't what love looks like.

Love doesn't watch someone it claims to love
slowly fall apart.
Love doesn't protect its pride while sacrificing the
heart of the person it promised to cherish.

Looking back, I finally realized...

Maybe you didn't love me.
Maybe you loved what my love gave you.

The comfort.
The attention.
The loyalty.
The certainty that I would always stay.

But love without care isn't love at all.

And the moment I finally accepted that,
walking away stopped feeling impossible.

Because real love never makes you beg
to be seen, heard, respected, or valued.

The right person will never take for granted
the heart they were lucky enough to have.

Hungry

 Jesus prepared a
meal for the
multitudes to
remind us that we
feed people not
because we believe
they deserve it, but
because they're
hungry.

Suffering

The devil doesn't even
want you to suffer.
He wants you
comfortable.

Because in
suffering,
we often find
Christ.

Pruning

pruning feels
like loss until
you discover
what the
Gardner
was making
room for.

~Taylor Paslay

Afraid

 Everything you are
afraid of is afraid of
Jesus.

A partner

She didn't need more help.
She needed a partner.

"I'm tired of having to tell you
what needs to be done."
"Like what?"
"The bills. The groceries. The kids.
The house. Everything."
"But if you tell me, I'll do it."

She looked at him.
"That's exactly what I'm tired of."
He paused. "What do you mean?"
"I don't want to manage you.
I want a partner who notices things
without waiting for instruction."

He slowly put his phone down.
"So you want me to start paying attention?"
"I don't want to feel like your mother,
reminding you what needs to be done."
She paused,"I just want to feel like your wife...
like we're carrying this life together."

Marriage isn't about helping when you're asked.
It's about noticing when your partner is tired
and stepping in without being asked.

Lessons

There are
lessons God
is trying
to teach
you in this
storm that
you could
not learn
while on
the shore.

~TobyMac

Ordained

If a man is ordained for you,
God will remove the scales
from his eyes and soften his
heart toward you.

God is not the author of
emotional torment.

Every love story God wrote in
His word required sacrifice
and sanctification - not
compromise and sin.

What God ordains will never
require seduction and sin to
sustain it.

Heal what still matters

 From Restore My Relationship

I'M NOT PRAYING FOR SOMEONE NEW.
I'M PRAYING FOR GOD TO HEAL WHAT STILL MATTERS TO MY HEART.

I'm not asking God to erase the past or pretend
the pain never happened.

I'm asking Him to heal what was broken.

To bring peace where there was tension.
To replace bitterness with forgiveness.
To bring understanding where words once caused wounds.
To restore what can only be restored through Him.

Because the restoration isn't simply getting back together.

It's becoming different people before trying to build something again.

Sometimes God begins His work in a relationship long before we see anything change on the outside.

He works in the hidden places:

in the heart,
in the thoughts,
in the emotions,
in the wounds,
and in the choices we makes when no one is watching.

What feels like silence may actually be preparation.

God may be teaching you to release control, grow in wisdom, heal your own heart, and trust Him with what you cannot fix yourself.

I used to think restoration would begin when the other person changed.

Now I understand that sometimes God begins by changing me.

So if that person is still in your prayers, don't let the lack of answers make you lose faith.

You don't have to know how the story will end.

Just place it in God's hands.

Pray with faith.
Heal with patience.
Trust His timing.
And let Him lead you one step at a time.

What looks finished to you may not be the end of what God is doing.

Some chapters close before we understand why.
Others begin when we finally surrender them to God.

I DON'T WANT TO START A
NEW STORY.

I want God to do something new
in the story that already exists.

You are worthy

 You are worthy of love.
You are worthy of good things.
You are worthy of healthy relationships.
You are worthy of your dreams.
You are worthy of happiness.
You are worthy of kindness.
You are worthy of respect.
Even when you don't believe it.

~Charlotte Freeman

That's love

When you give and expect a
return, that's an investment.
When you give and don't expect
anything back, that's love.

Let him

 LET HIM, CHOOSE YOUR PEACE

Don't spend too much time thinking about what
he's doing right now.

Let him live his life. Let him text whoever he
wants and make his own choices.

Not everything needs your reaction.

Not everything deserves your energy.

Sometimes peace begins when you stop
checking, stop chasing, and stop overthinking.

Focus on healing and moving forward.

And if he chooses to mess everything up, then
that's his path to face.

You deserve calm nights. You deserve a love that
doesn't make you anxious every day. And you
deserve the kind of peace that doesn't beg to
stay.

Stop worrying about the things you can't control.

Agape

 Agape

(Greek) A selfless, unconditional
kind of love, the love that
expects nothing in return, that
heals without asking & gives
simply because the heart
knows no other way

It is the love that stays gentle when it could become bitter.

The love that forgives without demanding repayment.

The love that gives simply because giving is part of who it is.

Agape is love without a transaction - given freely, felt deeply, and offered without asking what comes back.

Have peace

 Stop overthinking.

If it's God's will, it'll
happen and nothing will
stop it. If it's not, He has
a better plan. Have
peace in knowing that.

Wisely

 Someone once said,
"You've already
learned how to love
deeply. Now you're
learning how to love
wisely," and that really
stayed with me.

Because sometimes
the lesson isn't to love
less, it's to stop giving
your deepest love to
people who don't know
how to handle it.

Quiet tragedy

 From Hope After Betrayal Ministries

A quiet tragedy after betrayal is that many
partners begin believing it is their job to uncover
the truth.

So they check phones.

Study bank statements.

Compare timelines.

Read facial expressions.

Notice every inconsistency.

Search for hidden meanings in ordinary
conversations.

Over time, life becomes an investigation.

Not because they're controlling.

Because they're trying to survive.

But here's the problem:

If your sense of safety depends on how well you
can detect deception, you will never truly rest.

There will always be another password.

Another deleted message.

Another unanswered question.

Another possibility your mind feels responsible to
uncover.

That isn't peace.

That's hypervigilance.

Real safety was never meant to come from
becoming a better detective.

It comes from living in a relationship where you no
longer have to investigate because truth is freely
given.

Where transparency is volunteered, not extracted.

Where integrity makes secrecy unnecessary.

Where your partner's life is no longer divided into
what is seen and what is hidden.

This is why rebuilding trust requires far more than
ending destructive behaviors.

It requires becoming the kind of person whose life
can withstand the light.

Until then, don't mistake your exhaustion for
weakness.

Your nervous system is carrying a job it was never
designed to hold.

God did not create your heart to become a surveillance
system.

He created it to flourish in the safety of truth.

Live with staying

 From M.N. Borromeo

It's not really about whether the cheater is sorry.
Many cheaters cry. Many apologize. Many swear
they've changed.

The harder question is: Can you live with what
staying may require of you?

Because taking back a cheater is not just about
forgiveness. It means living with what you now
know about the person you love and what that
knowledge has done to you.

The images. The suspicion. The anxiety when their
phone lights up. The questions that appear when
they're late. The humiliation of knowing they wre
capable of betraying you, then coming home,
looking you in the eyes, and carrying on as if
nothing had happened.

That's why reconciliation is not just about whether
you still love them.

It's about the psychological price of staying with
someone your mind has learned may not be safe
to trust.

And that creates a battle inside you.

Your heart remembers the love and says, "Maybe
we can rebuild."

Your mind remembers the betrayal and warns,
"They did it once. They could do it again."

And your self-respect asks the question that hurts
the most:

"Is this how low I've fallen, that I can now accept
someone who cheated on me? This used to be my
non-negotiable. Have I lost so much of myself that
I'm now willing to accept the very thing I once
swore I never would?"

That is the real battle after infidelity.

The cheater can apologize. They can change.
They can spend years trying to become someone
worthy of your trust again.

But they cannot stop the battle they created inside
you.

And in the end, the hardest question may not be
whether you can forgive them.

It may be whether you can forgive yourself for
letting them stay.

Reassure

 From Dester Clyde Ruelo

I saw someone say they were talking to their
therapist about their anxious attachment, and their
therapist told them the truth is, you're not hard to
love or hard to be with, you are impossible to reassure.

I feel like there is someone with anxious attachment who needs to hear this.

I saw someone say they were talking
to their therapist about their
anxious attachment, and their
therapist told them the truth is,
you're not hard to love or hard to be
with, you are impossible to reassure.
I feel like that there is someone who needs
to hear this.

Its teeth

I tried to forget them
the way Rome forgets its ruins:
by building over them.

But love leaves its teeth in you.

Even now,
I can feel their ghost
biting the edge of my softness,
testing if I still bleed belief.

Overflowing

One minute you don't have it,
the next your cup is overflowing.

That's how God works.
Suddenly, abundantly, and always
right on time.

Carry one thing

 IF YOU CARRY
one thing with you today, let it be this:
You are amazing, strong, brave,
wonderful, kind, loved, worthy, and there
is no one like you.

Never seen

 I've never seen a woman
of God be rejected by
something or someone
that was above her or
above what God has
ordained for her.

Never.

Mature love

This is what mature love understands.

You don't need to know
where they are every minute to feel loved.

They can have their own friends, plans,
and time without you feeling pushed aside.

You don't need to control someone
to keep them close.

Real love feels different. You trust each other,
give each other room to be yourselves, and
still choose each other at the end of the day.

See your face

To see
Your face and
Feel nothing.

That would be
Peace at
Last.

Worth

 YOU are worth the trouble,
you're worth the time,
you're worth the hassle,
you're worth the resources,
you're worth the risk,
you're worth the heartache,
you're worth waiting
and fighting
and rooting for.
You are worth believing in.

Burn it into your brain.

~Dr. Glenn Patrick Doyle

A try

 "It's impossible,"
said pride.
"It's risky,"
said experience.
"It's pointless,"
said reason.
"Give it a try,"
whispered the heart.

Next six

 The next six months
are going to make
sense of the last six

Trust yourself

From The Redeemed Marriage

After betrayal, everyone talks about rebuilding
trust in your spouse. But there's another kind of
trust that can get shaken too.

Trust in yourself.

You start wondering how you missed it. You replay
conversations and question your own judgment.
Sometimes you even wonder if you'll ever be able
to trust what you feel or believe again.

That part of healing took time for us too. But
eventually you begin to realize that being deceived
doesn't mean you were foolish. And you don't
have to spend the rest of your life second
guessing everything just because someone once
gave you a reason to.

Healing isn't only learning to trust your spouse
again. Sometimes it's learning to trust yourself
again too.

One more time

 Have enough courage to
trust love one more time
and always one more time.

~Maya Angelou

Do things

If I do things for you,
it's not because I want
you to love me...it's

know that I love you.

Concealing

 A man who can't address
your concerns without becoming
hostile or dismissive is concealing
far more than just that response.
Write that down.

His anger is the tell. When she asks a simple question and he explodes, he's not reacting to the question he's reacting to being held accountable. His defensiveness proves he has something to hide. His hostility is admission without words.

A man with nothing to hide answers questions calmly. A man with secrets gets angry. She's asking because she sense dishonesty, and his explosive reaction confirms it. He's not upset because the question is unfair, he's upset because the question is accurate. His rage is a confession. His defensiveness is proof. She doesn't need more answers, she has all the evidence she needs in how he responds to her asking questions.

Tired

You can be tired of someone and still love
them. That is a painful truth because
exhaustion and affection can live in the
same body. Your heart may still care while
your spirit has nothing left to give.
Sometimes love stays, but the part of you
that could survive it has already left.

~Richard M. Drake, Detoxify

Both lost

In the end,
They both lost...
He lost a woman that would've never
given up on him and she
lost the woman she was before he broke
her heart

Honor God

Do not give up on your
marriage easily just because you
cannot forgive your
undeserving spouse, just
because it's hard to extend
mercy. You made a vow in the
presence of GOD that you
would continue to cleave unto
your spouse every day,
every moment for better, for
worse. Honor the vows to honor
GOD and honor GOD without
holding grudges.

Last ordinary day

 You never know
when you're
living the
last ordinary day
before life changes.
That's part of
what makes
ordinary days
so precious.

One more reason

I was not looking for closure.

I was looking for one more reason
not to let you go.

Still believe

I don't
Know why,
But I still
Believe
It will be

You and I.

Float

Sometimes -
God lets us
float around
on a small
raft in the
middle of a
dark ocean
for awhile so
that one day
when somebody
else starts
drowning and
God appoints us
to help them,
we will already
know our way
around the waters.

Changing things

Let July be July
and let August be August.
And let yourself
just be
even in uncertainty.
You don't have to fix everything.
You don't have to solve everything.
And you can still find peace
and grow
in the wild
of changing things.

One more day

God gave me
one more day.
The question is,
what will I do with it?
How will I serve.
Who will I bless.
What will I bring
to the table.

The older I get,
the more I realize
that God doesn't
have me here just
to take up space.
What cruelty
that would be.

He is planting me a garden
that I can either choose to
water or walk away from.
His mercy is new every morning -
His love is that big.

And I never want
to recover from
how good it is to
know Him.

Survives

 From The First Ten

She Survives
Spades

I love the way she survives.
Survival looked good on her.

There were no dark marks under her eyes.
Maybe deep inside,
but I liked the way she looked through them
and laughed at life.
She did it gracefully.
She'd walked over glass and through fire,
but still smiled.

And
honestly,
I'm not interested in people
who haven't lived and died a few times.
Who haven't yet had their heart ripped out,
or know what it feels like
to lose everything.

I trust those people,
because they stand for something.

I knew what she'd been through.

I wanted to thank her for surviving
and her to know
she now had someone willing to stand with her, too.

You are more

 From Parked Car

He was lying beside me when I said,
"You are everything I wanted...
am I everything you wanted?"

He replied,
"You are everything I wanted."

Then he smiled and looked up at the ceiling,
as if remembering everything he had wanted
before he met me, and he turned to me and said,

"You are more."

Never give up

 Never give up
on the people
that you love.

Miracles happen every day.

Patterns

Nobody tells you this: The reason
you repeat patterns isn't because
you're broken. It's because patterns
are your brain's efficiency tool. It
takes massive energy to do
something new. Patterns are pre-
loaded. Cheap to run. Your brain will
always prefer the established
highway over the dirt road. Even if
the highway leads somewhere you
hate.

Same God

Every giant in the Bible was
defeated by someone who simply
believed God was bigger

You have that same God
