From The Redeemed Marriage
After betrayal, everyone talks about rebuilding
trust in your spouse. But there's another kind of
trust that can get shaken too.
Trust in yourself.
You start wondering how you missed it. You replay
conversations and question your own judgment.
Sometimes you even wonder if you'll ever be able
to trust what you feel or believe again.
That part of healing took time for us too. But
eventually you begin to realize that being deceived
doesn't mean you were foolish. And you don't
have to spend the rest of your life second
guessing everything just because someone once
gave you a reason to.
Healing isn't only learning to trust your spouse
again. Sometimes it's learning to trust yourself
again too.
