Hello-there were a few little things I had to write about. I think I mostly just wanted an excuse to open up this blog for today.
I did start writing in a notebook by the bed and one thing I wrote about is how Nance has brought up several times if I have ever been concerned that maybe if you hadn't have been moved right after the accident if you would have been in better shape, like how when someone has a spinal cord injury how moving them can make it worse.
Every time I hear this, I right away know that I don't feel that way. For one thing, they HAD to get you out of that car. The damage was done to your brain at the time of impact. I don't think that brain injuries are affected by more movement after the fact. I actually don't know why she has brought this up so much. I'm glad I don't feel that way.
I had a contact with Drew's dad (Carter's new friend who said his dad saw your accident) this weekend. He actually texted me to ask when to pick up Drew because he thought he spent the night at our house. I texted him back that he spent the night at Dohnovan's. I couldn't resist asking about you so I said "I can't help but ask-the first time that I met Drew he said you saw my son Hayden's accident. Maybe we can talk about that sometime." He said, after we figured out how he could get a hold of Dohnovan, "And yes any time if you would like to talk...I just had the anniversary of my sons passing a few days ago (emoji with tear)." I said back "I'm sorry that you lost a son too. The pain is almost unbearable at times. My husband is out of town right now but I'm sure he would like to meet with you as well. I will let you know when would be a good time-thank you so much!" To which he replied, "I would enjoy that."
Later on, I started getting really freaked out about what he might know. I always am afraid I'm going to hear how you were driving crazy or reckless or something. That is so not you though. Carter made me feel better because he told me that Drew said his dad was about 5 cars behind the accident and saw the scene with the truck in the ditch and your car all banged up right around the hill. He told Drew that he felt sorry for our family when he saw them taking you out of the car. I will let you know how that goes. That was an answer to prayer in and of itself the day I met Drew because I just prayed for some more answers about your accident that day. God is so good.
I'll leave this open for the day in case there's anything else I think of. I just looked through the articles on annarbor.com about you and your accident. I still can't read through them without crying. Sweet boy.
Jake stopped by over lunch-yay! Hope and Carter both stayed home sick and he brought them chicken noodle soup. It was nice to see him, of course.
