From Alyssa Rhoda
Somewhere along the way, we started confusing
distance with maturity. Silence with peace.
Independence with strength.
But marriage was never meant to be two people
standing back to back, proving they don't need
anyone. Scripture doesn't call it coexistence. It
call it one flesh.
Real intimacy requires vulnerability. It requires
saying, "I need you," and allowing yourself to be
needed in return. Carrying each other's burdens
isn't unhealthy attachment. It's obedience to the
design God created.
When spouses stop leaning on each other, they
don't become stronger. They grow farther apart.
If independence has started to feel lonely, this is
your reminder: needing your spouse isn't a flaw.
It's part of what makes a marriage whole.
