Panic attacks

Panic attacks

The overwhelming physiological surge occurs when your body's
survival mechanics misfire, plunging you into an intense,
paralyzing state of terror without any actual danger present. It
completely hijacks your nervous system, mimicking the exact
sensations of a life-threatening crisis by flooding your system
with adrenaline in a matter of seconds.

You are sitting at your desk or standing in a grocery line when
a sudden wave of dread hits, making your chest tighten so
fiercely that you cannot catch your breath. Your hands begin to
shake, your heart pounds violently against your ribs, and a
terrifying certainty washes over you that you are losing your
mind or dying right there.

This leaves you feeling profoundly betrayed by your own body,
constantly hyper-vigilant and terrified of when the next
invisible storm will strike. Living in the aftermath of this
experience means navigating an exhausting fear of fear itself,
where ordinary places turn into potential traps and your mind
becomes a battleground for control.
