Only you

Only you will ever know the real you.

Everyone else sees a version of you

a version created in their mind

through their filters

using their own

experiences and judgments

to mould you.

You may think they see

what you know

about yourself

but they don't.

Everyone you have ever met

holds a version of you

in their memory.

None of them are real.

It is a special moment

when this truth sinks in

because at last you realise

you've a very unique

thing going on

with yourself.

So many versions of you exist

in very many places

but only you

will know the real one.

Now if that is not a relationship

well worth treasuring

what is?
