Faith by Hayden

Last night at Bible Study, Sheryl mentioned this Tweet that Jacob posted of something you wrote in middle school. It's actually amazing. When I asked Hope about it, she said it was a retweet of something that was posted a while ago. Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of when MLK Jr. was assassinated, BTW.

Quote by MLK Jr.:  "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."

I believe that this quote by Martin Luther King Jr. means that having faith doesn't mean waiting until you know what's going to happen before you move on. It means to press on, no matter what lies ahead, no matter the consequences, just believe and be prepared for anything that might happen. This quote inspires me as a person to believe that what lies ahead does so for a reason, and to move forward no matter the hardships; to have faith. I selected this quote because it relates to me and I need to be prepared for anything that may confront me in life. I think that many other people that hear this quote would be inspired by the breathtaking words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and that it would be very meaningful to them in a way that they didn't think a quote ever could. I know that's the way I feel about it. I actually just heard this quote recently, and I'm glad I did. I found it on the internet, and a few other quotes caught my attention, but this one was by far the best. This quote inspires me to excel myself forward in life, not knowing what's in store for me, but believing that whatever happens for a reason. That whenever I'm afraid of what may happens, it happens for a reason. That whenever I'm afraid of what may happen, just remember that "Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase."
