From Patrick Weaver
Somebody needs to hear this...When God said. "Lean not to your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path," that includes emotions. Let me say that another way...when God moves on our behalf, when God closes a door or a season that was contrary to His plans for your life (Jeremiah 29:11), lean not to your own understanding beloved.
When God shuts a door, ends a season, removes wrong people from our life - by whatever Godly means necessary, emotions that lean to their own understanding will make you think that deliverance was punishment. You see, thoughts or emotions that exalt themselves above the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5) will convert the will and plan of God into a burden rather than a blessing.
Anybody that was an enemy of God's will and plan for your life, is not a loss. Any relationship that kept you in bondage, trampled on your pearls, hijacked your divine inheritance and kept you trying to make an emotional meal out of rotten, manipulative, and cyclically toxic/unhealthy crumbs, was out of order, unevenly yoked and detrimental to your Christ identity.
And let's be clear...when God removes somebody that you lost yourself with, when God closes a door on somebody who was robbing you of life and life more abundantly, when God says enough is enough and let's the wrong thing fall apart so He can make the right thing fall together, don't keep staring at Sodom and Gomorrah as if it was heaven on earth. Don't let emotions make you forget you prayed for God to fix it. Don't look at their depraved indifference carrying on as if you never existed as a reflection of you or a rejection of your love...Judas didn't betray Jesus because Jesus didn't love Judas enough, Judas betrayed Jesus because Judas was a betrayer (John 12:1-6). Don't let emotions make you think unrepentant sin enjoying life on the way to hell is a blessed life...what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul (Mark 8:36). They aren't getting away with anything, God doesn't avenge emotions, they're pending, as all repentant sinners are (Romans 12:19)
Don't lean on your own understanding about Egypt or Pharaoh. Lean to God for the truth. You weren't rejected, you were rescued. You didn't lose, you won your life back. They were not your blessing, they were your bondage. Your life isn't over, their role and their ability to feed you emotional crumbs in your life is over. Cast down all thoughts that exalt themselves above the knowledge of God beloved...this is your redo, this is your time to shine. Turn them over to God so you can turn around and walk into your promise.
Carry On!
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
2 Corinthians 10:5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
John 12:1-6 Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table. Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was about to betray him), said, "Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?" He said this, not because He cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it.
Mark 8:36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?
Romans 12:19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."
