A space

 From Ladies Pass It On

THERE'S A SPACE

There's a space,
in my life,
in the ground,
in the world.
A space so vast I must avoid stepping too close and
falling in.
Falling to the end of all time and all feeling, where
nothing makes sense anymore and the air burns like fire.
I tiptoe, small steps, around that space.
I live a full day fearing it, knowing the pain it holds.
Sometimes I feel a surge of courage and rush towards it,
ready to dive in and be consumed
by the past,
by the memories,
by the pain,
by you.

What sweet hell that would be.

There's a space where you once sat my love, wider than
the world itself.
Greater than the point of all life.
One day I will go inside and meet you there.
Just for a moment.
When time weaves me a cloak to protect from the burn
and
your love becomes the cushion that bears the brunt of
the impact.

For now, I tiptoe around the space,
that's wider than the world itself.
