Hope does not disappoint

This was the Daily Bible Verse today and it was appropriate because I've been reading a book that my counselor recommended called, Adult Children of Alcoholics. It explains a lot about the way I am and I've been feeling bad because I feel like I'm so dysfunctional. This verse and commentary addressed that head on today.

Romans 5:5:  Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Commentary:
As we go along in life, we find that hope may be the most important trait that we can cultivate, for hope is an expectation of the future that determines how we live today. The mistakes that we have made can make it easy to lose hope, but God brings to us good news: we are more dysfunctional than we want to admit, but we are more loved than we could ever dream. This reality will not disappoint us when we believe the gospel that is offered to us in Jesus Christ.
