leave mortal bodies-receive true immortality

human existence-likened to life in a tent
tents don't last very long
when tents are destroyed-get a building from God
eternally preserved forever in heaven
main point-permanent sphere of existence we graduate to when we die
present state clothed in immortality
referring to Rapture
genuine hope in return of Lord during his lifetime (Paul)
robs of hope when can only look backwards
hope shines through the tears
even so, come quickly!
Nakedness of death is not permanent
period of time exist as a naked soul
v.5 centerpiece is that we see God
fellowship with him clothed in natural bodies forever
why we were created-to fellowship with Him eternally
Emmanuel- God with us
Brings new city down to earth
something to enjoy now-given us his spirit as a guarantee
not immediate eternal physical body
storing up good foundation-that which is life indeed
not experiencing blessing now
