Always suffer

I asked my friend why I always suffer in relationships? Then he told me this:

I know you from childhood and you are really soft and emotional. You are not selfish or mean which makes you to give and give You always love to give people the best of you. Because making people loved and happy makes you happy. But problem is you think that everyone is like you. You should know that everyone is not deserving. You should not allow people to take advantage of you.
