People pleasing

From Mind Journal

Authentic Kindness                          
  1. Saying "no" when I'm at my limit or need a break.
  2. Letting someone know when they've hurt me or crossed a boundary.
  3. Refusing to enable behavior that harms my nervous system.
  4. Standing up for myself in a compassionate way.
  5. Believing in someone's ability to do what's best for them.
People Pleasing
  1. Saying "yes" then feeling regret and resentment later.
  2. Keeping feelings and needs to myself out of fear or shame.
  3. Allowing harmful behavior in order not to "lose" someone's love.
  4. Denying my reality or taking on someone else's as "truth".
  5. Feeling like I need to fix or rescue someone because they need me.
