Been through

One day as I walked along

Feeling like nothing was new

I looked behind me and saw

All that I had been through

The pain where I had been

Was marked by tears and sighs

It saddened me to see them

I wanted to shield my eyes

But when I took a closer look

I was surprised to find

Wisdom, strength and hope

And friends of every kind

Today my heart thanks you

With hugs and understanding
