When we get sideswiped by nasty words (seemingly out of the blue) we have to look at the context~
More often than not, the tongue lashing was not meant for us, it was a culmination (a series of emotions) of someone's bad day and we just happened to be the target.
The test of our resolve is to understand this. It doesn't make it right or excuse poor behavior, it happens. We have all done this, experienced it, and felt the hurt.
Now we decide - do we let it eat at our ego or send them some love.
I choose the latter.
They obviously need it.
