Not hard

You are not hard to love. You are not a burden. You 

are not trouble. You are not a lost cause. You are not 

a sum of the labels that have been given to you. You 

are not hopeless. You are not second best. You are 

not a problem. Nothing about you is wrong.

Nothing about you is lesser. Nothing about you is a

mistake. And if they made you feel that way, I

promise - it wasn't you. It was never you. Because

you were never hard to love. They just had a hard

time loving themselves. You were never unworthy.

They just had a hard time believing in their own

worthiness. You were never mediocre. They just

couldn't support your dreams because that meant

acknowledging that they'd forgotten their own. They

didn't want to recognize your magic because they

were afraid they'd lost theirs. It was easier to try to

suppress your light than to admit they were living in

the dark. So please - don't let them take away your

spark. Don't let them stop you. Take a deep breath

and remember who you are: you are easy to love,

filled with potential, and a gift to this world.
